Newcastle is a city that knows how to have fun. With some of the liveliest nightlife in the country, it's a great place for a weekend break, a stag or hen party and, with its great range of museums and art galleries, a family break too. The Newcastle City Apartments could not be more central. Located at the top of Northumberland Street - right opposite the famous Fenwick's department store - you're right in the heart of the action, with all the shopping you could wish for right outside your front door. The stylish station bars and nightclubs are just around the corner offering a funky atmosphere in a trendy location. A short walk away is the fantastic Quayside area; home to some of the most striking architecture in the country, including The Baltic art gallery, the 'blinking eye' bridge and The Sage concert venue.
The Apartments:
There are a total of 20 (both 1 and 2 bedroom apartments) and each flat varies in exact spec. They are well equipped for the business traveller, stag and hen parties or a family break. Apartments have a Spacious lounge, stylish fitted kitchen, comfortable bedroom and luxurious bathrooms with a power shower. The property is situated in the heart of the city centre on the main shopping street and minutes walk away from bars and restaurants.

- One bedroom:
Luxury fully fitted apartment with luxury linen. All appliances provided as well as utensils and crockery. Washing and Ironing facilities in every apartment. Self catering.
Max occupancy: 2 (3 persons when using sofabed in lounge at an extra charge)

Sightseeing:
The city apartments are situated in the historic centre of Newcastle City, close to many architectural gems and the fine grand architecture rivalled by Regent Street. Within a short stroll is the hugely popular Quayside area which has an electric mix of ancient buildings to the latest contemporary buildings. There are numerous restaurants and wine bars as well as a few food shops. Every weekend there is a market and the Quay front becomes a pedestrian only zone. Close to the City Apartments there are several bus stations, several Metro stations and Newcastle Central railway station. You can get Metros to Whitley Bay or get a train to see historic Durham Cathedral and the old city. The Stately homes of Wallington Hall, Cragside and Seaton Delaval Hall are all within an easy drive or perhaps a trip to the tranquillity of Holy Island to see the seals might be more your cup of tea. After all of the relaxation you can find hundreds of bars from the grand commercial banking hall, which is now "Revolution" vodka bar to the first class lounge in old Central Station which is now "Centurion". There are numerous bars and nightclubs for every taste and every conceivable persuasion.
Shopping:
If shopping is more " your bag " you will find it all literally on your doorstep - immediately opposite there is Fenwick department store (also found in the ultra-flash Bond Street, London!), John Lewis, Monument Mall, Eldon Square & Eldon Garden all housing hundreds of superb shops. If that isn't enough you can walk along Grey Street and Grainger Town to find something a little more individual with Vivienne Westwood or one of the many boutique shops or even unusual or unrecognised gems from some of the charity shops around the area. If tech is more your thing you could try high-end home entertainment from Bang & Olufsen or the Fenwick tech department. For fresh produce the Grainger Market has it all from fine coffee, cheese, meat, fish and other groceries. If you can't find it here we suggest you get a Metro to the little enclave of West Jesmond for some exclusive boutique style clothing or food shops. For more mass appeal a bus or train will get you to Europe's largest shopping centre, the MetroCentre, in 5-10 minutes. The bus leaves from just near the City Apartments.
Business:
Newcastle city is fairly compact, but the business spread is vast - with many surrounding towns offering discounted rates or incentives and many redevelopment programs. Rest assured that City Apartments puts you in the centre of it all. Relax; in the unlikely event that you are not 5 minutes walk away from where you need to be you will find you are surrounded with transport options from airport, heliport, quayside, ports, car hire, Metro, taxis or buses. There are many business centres and conference venues including Metro Radio Arena. For corporate entertaining, teambuilding, reward weekends, or just a place to sleep that is easy to get to you will find City Apartments ideally located. You can walk across the whole centre in 15 minutes and a Metro will take you to the coast within half an hour.
Families:
City Apartments offers large apartments which are perfectly suited for families. Situated on a city centre pedestrian street you will find Northumberland Street bustling, yet entirely safe. There are a number of entertainments suitable for the whole family including Hancock Museum, City Library, Centre for Life, Discovery Museum, Laing Art Gallery, several cinemas, and the incredible city pool which has period sauna suites in the basement.
Education:
City Apartments is situated close to the Universtiy of Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumbria University, as well as a short walk from Newcastle College and a quick bus ride from Gateshead College. Also transport links will get you quickly to Durham University and Sunderland University.

Cancellation Policy:
CANCELLATION AND AMENDMENT POLICY
The cancellation and amendment deadline is for 3 working days (monday to friday)prior to the arrival date by mid-day (12:00) London time. This cancellation policy will also be stated on the confirmation. All cancellations and amendments/alterations should be made in writing by fax or by e-mail. Enquiries about cancellations and amendments can be made on the phone first but must be followed by a written confirmation by fax or by e-mail. Any reservation cancelled more than 3 working days prior to the arrival date by mid-day (12:00) London time, will incur only a £25 (GBP) processing fee. This amount will be deducted from the refund issued the same day of the cancellation and a confirmation of the cancellation will be forwarded to the guests. Please note that all refunds will also incur a 5% (of the total amount originally paid) credit card handling fee charge.
Any reservation amended (amendments include modifying the arrival date and adding or reducing the number of apartments or nights) more than 3 working days prior to the arrival date by mid-day (12:00) London time, will incur only a GBP 25 (GBP) processing fee. This amount will be deducted from any refund issued or added to any extra charge made the same day of the amendment and a confirmation of the amendment will be forwarded to the guests. Please note that all refunds will also incur a 5 percent (of the total amount originally paid) credit card handling fee charge.Please note that although the length of stay can be extended, there will be no obligation from the property to allocate the same apartment or to apply the same rate.If the duration of the reserved stay is to be shortened, then the applicable tariff for that shorter duration will come into force. Please note that a change of rate for a shortened or lengthened stay will be applied retrospectively: the new rate will be effective from the original date of arrival. Any reservation made or arriving within 3 working days prior to arrival will be non-refundable and non-exchangeable. All reservations made and not used (non-arrival / double bookings) without the reservations being amended or cancelled prior to arrival will also incur a full charge. Clients are responsible for contacting Apartotels.com directly for any amendment or cancellation and as advised above any change or cancellation will only be actioned when a request in writing is received. Any amendment or cancellation made directly with the property will not be considered valid. Any request to cancel or amend a reservation cannot be considered complete until you receive our confirmation. Until you do your booking will still be considered valid as originally made so please ensure you contact us if you do not receive a confirmation of your cancellation/amendment within 1 hour of your initial written request if made during normal business working hours, or within 1 hour of our opening times if your initial request is made overnight or at weekend.
LATE CANCELLATION/NO SHOW POLICY
For a cancellation notified at any time after mid-day (12:00) 3 working days (monday to friday) prior to the arrival date or for a 'no show', Apartotels.com will retain an amount as follows: for stays of under 7 nights, the value of one night's stay; for stays of between 7 nights to 27 nights, the value of three nights' stay; and for stays of more than 28 nights, the value of seven nights' stay.
The above amount will be deducted from the refund issued. Please note that all refunds will also incur a 5% (of the total amount originally paid) credit card handling fee charge. MODIFICATION TO A RESERVATION, OR TO THE DURATION OF STAY, AFTER ARRIVAL
After arrival any modification to the length of stay will be subject to a £25 (GBP) processing fee if the length of stay is being reduced. If the duration of the reserved stay is to be shortened, the applicable tariff for that shorter duration will come into force and both the new rate and processing fee will be taken into account before any refund is made. Please note that all refunds will also incur a 5% (of the total amount originally paid) credit card handling fee charge. If the duration of the reserved stay is to be extended (subject to availability of course), there will be no obligation from the property to allocate the same apartment or to apply the same rate.
